Trees know more than people generally give them credit for. I spent the summer as an intern at a theater in the middle of the woods in Wisconsin, and I used a lot of my free time sitting in trees. People usually didn’t notice me, and sometimes I’d overhear bits of conversation I clearly wasn’t supposed to hear.

The trees heard even more than I did. Near the end of the internship, I decided that people probably deserved a warning – the trees were watching. So I did this:
